Canny Technologies was founded in Bangalore in 2019 by Priya Sharma and Karthik Reddy — two engineers who had spent a combined 20 years building software for large enterprises and watched, frustrated, as SMBs were systematically priced out of quality software development.
The hypothesis was simple: mid-market businesses — companies between $1M and $100M in revenue — deserved access to the same quality of software as Fortune 500 companies, without the minimum engagement sizes, consulting overhead, or the bait-and-switch from senior to junior teams that plagued the industry.
Starting with a team of 8 senior engineers, we delivered our first 10 projects across India, Singapore, and the UK in 2019–2020. By 2021, we had launched our AI automation practice and expanded to serve US HealthTech clients with HIPAA-compliant platforms. By 2024, we had crossed 200 projects and 50 engineers.
